Award for Founder & CEO of Can-Survive UK

Marcella Turner, Founder and CEO of Can-Survive UK received an award at the recent Heroes and Sheroes Gala Ball Awards 2017 held on Saturday 25th February at the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate.

In its fifth year, the Award ceremony is in recognition of individuals who work voluntarily and tirelessly to improve the lives, health and wellbeing of those from the Black African Caribbean communities living in Manchester.

Marcella was awarded runner-up in the ‘Community’ category.

Due to the kindness of Rob Ferguson, CEO, Mosscare Housing Limited, who sponsored a table of 10, Can-Survive UK was able to bring along some of Can-Survive UK’s service users to join the celebrations.

Service users greatly appreciated the opportunity to attend. Here are some of their comments:

“Marcella thank you for the wonderful night. If it was not for your group, I would not have been there. Big thanks!!!”

“Just wanted to say I had a lovely time with the group last night. It was just so refreshing and uplifting to let our hair down.. or up!”

“Thank you for the amazing day.”

Many thanks to the Committee members of Heroes and Sheroes and also to Davine Forde who nominated Marcella for the award.
