Can-Survive UK wins Community Group of the Year award
On Friday 7th February 2020, two members of our MOT cancer support group – Winston and Joe, attended Forever Manchester’s 30th Birthday party and fundraising event. Part of the celebration was the awards ceremony for recognising outstanding achievements. Can-Survive UK was awarded the Community Group of the Year.
‘I was so shocked that we won and on behalf of the Board of Trustees and service users, say thank you to Forever Manchester and CDL Software for sponsoring this award.
I would like to dedicate this award to my Mum and Dad who sadly lost their lives to cancer as it is through that loss, that Can-Survive UK was born.
Can-Survive UK is a needed community resource, providing support and information to people living with or affected by cancer. We are here for the patient, family members and carers.
A cancer diagnosis can bring feelings of fear, anxiety, worry and great uncertainty – our services are here so that community members do not have to go through cancer alone.
Forever Manchester was our first funder and has consistently continued to support our work. ‘Thank you’ to Forever Manchester and happy 30th birthday!’
