For volunteering positions requiring direct client support services e.g. Community support services, and work with vulnerable adults, any criminal conviction must be declared. This includes spent convictions and cautions. Successful applicants in these areas will be subject to a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
Having either a spent or an unspent conviction will not necessarily bar you from volunteering.
This will depend on the circumstances and background to your offence(s).

In order to protect the users of our services, we will need to take up references. Please give the names and addresses of two referees. We would prefer your references to be provided by your current or most recent employer, or someone who knows you in an educational or professional capacity.
All applicant personal data is kept secure and there will be no unauthorised disclosure of your personal data to any third party without your express consent. We retain applicant information for one year in order to contact you if we have any new opportunities we feel you may be interested in.
